The 2005 Embassy World Snooker Championship was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 16 April and 2 May 2005 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. Ronnie O'Sullivan was the defending champion, but he lost in the quarter-finals 11–13 against Peter Ebdon.
